If you’ve ever spent more than a couple of days in a camper with no slides, you know how cramped it can get. With this limited space, it’s difficult for two people to even walk pass each other. There is a solution that will almost double the amount of living space, travel trailers with opposing slides.
Commonly referred to as slide-outs, these “add-ons” are designed to create, or sometimes double, the living space inside your RV.
In the past, slides weren’t very popular. They often had mechanical issues and just weren’t very user friendly. With advances in technology, slides these days are extremely easy to use, often just by pushing a button to extend and retract them.
The major benefit of a travel trailer with double slides is the amount of usable living space that is created when they are extended.
I have put together this list of 5 travel trailers with opposing slides that will make you feel more like you’re at home, rather than camping in an RV.

Final Thoughts
Travel trailers with opposing slides are a great way to nearly double your overall living space, especially for those with large families. But keep in mind that with more moving parts, there is generally more maintenance involved as well as failures. With that in mind, a rig with multiple slides may not be the best choice for first-time RV owners.
Many of today’s slides are electric or hydraulic so you will want to make sure you keep up with the required maintenance to avoid problems down the road.
